As well known, a large part of the movie was shot in Doon. Karan Johar was in Dehradun in the last week of October 2011 to shoot the movie. An elaborate temple set was constructed in the FRI campus for the shoot. Although the main actors were from Mumbai, the actors for side roles were chosen through auditions held in Dehradun. Many Doonites were able to fulfill their aspiration to be seen on the silver screen! The film was shot at many locations in Dehradun including FRI and Kasiga School.

Dehradun’s famous and beautifully verdant Forest Research Institute (FRI) has been projected as St. Teresa High School in the film. In the teasers FRI is looking absolutely fabulous and glamorous as the movie’s St. Teresa’s High School. Because of this special Doon connection, this film is sure to be watched by all movie buffs in Dehradun. Doonites are keenly awaiting the release on 19 October 2012.

This time Karan’s Dharma Production has adopted digital marketing to create a buzz about the movie. Keeping in mind the youthful theme of the movie, teaser videos and posters are being released online and that too at midnight when most youngsters can be found online. The teaser poster has three students sitting on a bench with similar jerseys and their names written on the back. Although the storyline has not been revealed, going by the title and teasers, the movie seems to be based on the two emotions that all youth face—friendship and competitiveness.
