Flight between Dehradun-Kathmandu to Boost up Trade |

CII had organized a seminar at Rajpur Road, Dehradun on ‘Tourism, Trade and Investment Opportunities in Nepal’ to discover the investment potential in Nepal. Representatives from Nepal embassy highlighted that there are vast opportunities in Nepal in various business sectors such as Tourism, Hydropower, Medicinal Herbs and Manufacturing Industry. India can increase its share of investment in Nepal via FDI or by way of its liberal economic policies. As per B.P. Lamsal, Ministry of Finance- Nepal Embassy, the major focus of Government of Nepal in this fiscal year 2012-13 has been to increase FDI and they have been working hard to attain it. Addressing the session, Rakesh Sharma, Principal Secretary, Industrial Development, Govt. Of Uttarakhand said that there is no flight service from Uttarakhand to Kathmandu and therefore the state capital Dehradun could be connected to Kathmandu via air. The proposal regarding the same has been sent to the Central Government for approval. Rakesh Aggarwal, Chairman- CII Uttarakhand, discussed significant points on how to develop better business relations between both the countries.
