Spice Jet has now become the fourth airline operator in the Delhi-Dehradun sector. Flights by Jet Airways, Kingfisher and Air India are already operational in this sector. Jolly Grant Airport is conveniently close to Dehradun, Rishikesh and Haridwar.
All these three towns see a continuous influx of tourists all through the year. The travel time between Dehradun-Delhi by air is merely 45 minutes. With the introduction of Spice Jet flights, air travel has become more accessible to the common man. Spice Jet has announced a flat fare of Rs. 1999/- in this sector which is quit less as compared to other airlines operating in this sector. Whether it maintains this fare or it is just an introductory price to attract travellers, remains to be seen. Spice Jet will fly two daily flights in the Dehradun-Delhi sector starting from 19th July.
